Everything is Sinking? Hamilton, ON

Challenge

The concrete driveway, side walkway, and bottom front step had started sinking, revealing many tripping hazards for the owners and the guests they have over quite frequently. Unfortunately, they neglected the concrete, thinking it wouldn’t be an issue until they tripped over the driveway when pushing the garbage bins to the curb and up the stairs when bringing groceries into the home.

Solution

After the quote was made and the notes were brought back, it was time for our installation team to come to Hamilton and complete the work. Later that week, our Installation Supervisor, Kyle Mckeown, and JP, our Installation Specialist, arrived at the home and began drilling small dime-sized holes into the concrete. These holes will hold our polyurethane gun that pumps the material into the concrete and fills the voids. Our polyurethane curing time is very minimal and practically cures within minutes. Once the polyurethane is in, it is time for the two to seal up the holes of the injections with corresponding concrete. You can hardly tell that invasion was done with the holes being so small. To finish the work, JP will apply our NexusPro® sealant to the joints so no elements can get to the polyurethane underneath. The adhesive is malleable, waterproof, chemical resistant, and will never dry! This home is on a whole other level now.

After: Polyurethane is injected into the slab, lifting it back up and getting rid of the gap. On top of that, we used our NexusPro® sealant in the floor-to-step joint.
