3 Locations Around Home are Sinking! Kitchener ON
Challenge
Challenge
When spring arrives, it's a great time to do some renovations. Homeowners in Kitchener, ON noticed sinking concrete when they were working in the garage, and taking tarps off their patio furniture. The concrete was sinking in the middle of the floor and at the garage entrance. They noticed the back patio also had sinking concrete. The homeowners did not want to start replacing concrete which would be a major expense. A neighbour recommended Canadian Concrete Leveling. Our experienced Project Manager met with the homeowners and inspected all the problem areas.
- The driveway: The concrete began to settle from the constant pressure applied to it and weak soil underneath. A huge gap formed between the garage and driveway making it difficult for them to exit or enter with their vehicles.
- The garage: Comprised of four large concrete slabs with a large void in the middle of the floor. The homeowners were worried that vehicles parked in the garage would fall through the floor.
- Backyard Patio: The sinking concrete was low enough to expose the home's foundation. Without a level patio, rain could eat away at the home's foundation and potentially creep into the basement.

After our thorough inspection, it was time to get the work completed. First, our Installation Supervisor, Kyle McKeown, levelled all the concrete with our reliable and durable PolyLevel® Injection System. The process started with drilling small 0.750-inch holes where the concrete sinks most. From there, our high-density polyurethane is injected filling all voids under the concrete. Once the space underneath is filled, the concrete is lifted and levelled to its original position. All three locations of the home were levelled in no time. The crew then used NexusPro® Sealant fill-in all the joints to prevent water from affecting the home's foundation. The homeowners were thrilled they could use all areas without tripping or damaging themselves or their vehicles.
