Dear front-line workers... thank you

It’s time like these that show us what we’re made of.

The Novel Corona Virus has taken the world by storm in a way no one could have imagined. Companies have temporarily shut down, store shelves are sitting empty, and there’s an overall sense of uneasiness and uncertainty within the community.

Thank you front line workers

We’ve all been watching the news every day trying to stay up to date. We’ve heard about all of the front-line workers risking their lives every day to keep serving the public. Their job has become that much harder, never knowing if the next call could be for a COVID-19 patient. It’s a hard enough job as it is, and COVID-19 is making it that much more difficult.

They’re facing new challenges each day, and like the rest of us, don’t always have answers to their questions. They keep their heads down, do their best to protect themselves, and continue to help our citizens.

But, as usual, you don’t hear any complaints. Front-line workers tirelessly continue to answer the call of duty day in and day out, without once hesitating.

That’s why we want to say thank you.

Thank you for going to work each day, even in the face of a pandemic. Thank you for your bravery and for never giving up on Canadians. For fighting fires, helping those in medical need, and keeping our communities safe. For keeping our roads and buildings safe, keeping us healthy and fed, delivering essential goods, or for manufacturing life-saving products.

I know these are only words on a page, but it’s one of the ways we can show our support and gratitude for our front-line workers. Keep reminding them that we’re here, we’re listening, and we care.

It’s our duty as Canadians to continue to support them as much as possible and do everything we can to make their jobs easier.

To all the front-line workers during this time:

Thank you!
