Photo Album: Soil Erosion Creates Tripping Hazards in Toronto, Ontario
Sometimes, nature causes problems: Shingles blowing off roofs, snow piling in front of a door, or in this case, washing away soils.
A customer in Toronto, Ontario, had a backyard walkway that had shifted immensely. It was hard to walk on, and the customer was concerned with water draining towards her home. She called Canadian Concrete Leveling and met with Project Manager Joe McColl.
Joe spent time understanding the issues at hand and offered the homeowner a solution to fix her concrete. She was excited to get started with the repairs, and a date was set up.
Foreman Kyle McKeown drilled dime-sized holes throughout the walkway as ports to install our PolyLevel® System. The polyurethane injections go beneath the concrete and expand, lift and level the slabs providing stability and support.
The customer is thrilled that she can finally use her walkway again. Her tripping hazards are gone, and her basement is protected from water.
Before
Not only was water draining the wrong way, but this walkway was also a very serious, and obvious, tripping hazard for anyone using it
Bad Drainage
Some of the slabs were draining away from the home, but others were draining right towards the foundation
After
Our non-invasive PolyLevel® system did a great job not only removing hazards but also changing the grade to drain water away from the home
