Photo Album: Front Steps Leave Bad Impression in Mississauga, Ontario
One of the first things you see walking up to a home is the walkway or pathway. It leaves a lasting impression, and it’s also the last thing someone sees.
In Mississauga, Ontario, a customer wanted to change the first impression people had when they walked up to her home. Her front steps were sinking along with the walkway, so she reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling and met with Project Manager Joe McColl.
Joe walked her through our solution, and a date was set for the repair. Foreman Bill McKeown injected our PolyLevel® high-density polyurethane to lift the concrete slabs and compress the fill soils below to prevent further settlement. To keep water out of any seams and give the walkway a finished look, our NexusPro® Sealant was also used.
The customer can’t wait to show off her house again. She is looking forward to having guests over and no longer has to worry about tripping on her way to the door.
Front Walkway Before
Settling soils caused a large gap to form and the slab to sink a number of inches
Front Walkway After
We lifted the step back up to its original grade in only a few hours
Pathway
The customer wanted quests to remember her quaint walkway, not her sinking concrete
Settlement
The difference in colour between the two slabs was one of the first signs that the concrete was having issues
Steps Before
The large gap was causing concern for the customer since it was allowing water to get beneath the concrete
Steps After
We lifted the steps and sealed the gap with our NexusPro® Sealant
