Photo Album: Tripping Hazard Threatens Homeowner in Mississauga, Ontario
A significant tripping hazard isn’t something you should have to deal with every day. It could be as small as a tipped over brick or cinderblock, or as severe as shifting and sinking concrete.
A customer in Mississauga, Ontario, was dealing with a tripping hazard every time he walked up to his house. Poor fill soils led to sinking front steps, and part of his patterned walkway was also sinking. Tired of dealing with the risk, the homeowner decided to reach out to Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Project Manager Joe McColl met the customer at his home and inspected the walkway and steps. The customer was happy to learn we had a proven solution, and a date was set for the repair.
Foreman Kyle McKeown started the repair by drilling dime-sized holes in the concrete. These ports were used to inject our PolyLevel® solution, lifting and leveling the concrete while also compressing fill soils below.
The customer is happy that his tripping hazards are gone. He is thrilled with the work done by Canadian Concrete Leveling and thanks the entire team.
Steps Before
As the steps were sinking more water was able to seep behind the concrete, causing even more of a tripping hazard
Steps After
Our high-density polyurethane brought the steps back up to their original grade
Walkway Before
Poor fill soils caused the concrete walkway to shift and sink
Walkway After
We lifted the slab and compressed the fill soils to prevent any sinking in the future
