Photo Album: Sinking Patio Threatens Home's Foundation in Woodbridge, Ontario
Back patios are for more than just parties and aesthetics. They play an essential role in drainage since they guide water away from your home’s foundation. Well, at least that’s what they’re supposed to do.
A customer in Woodbridge, Ontario, has a beautiful home with a lovely backyard and patio. Her and her husband love to entertain, but they started to notice a few places where the concrete was settling. Water was no longer draining off the concrete and instead was pooling in front of their foundation.
Project Manager Joe McColl met with the couple and completed a thorough inspection of their backyard. He explained how our PolyLevel® solution could bring their patio back to a level grade and prevent the issue from returning. They were happy to hear they wouldn’t need to remove the old concrete, and they booked a date for the repair.
Foreman Kyle McKeown drilled several dime-sized holes throughout the slabs to start the repair. He injected our high-density polyurethane using these holes, lifting the concrete and compressing loose fill soils below. Once the concrete was level, Kyle sealed any seams with our NexusPro® sealant. The last step was to patch the holes with fresh concrete, giving the patio a finished look.
The homeowners are blown away by the work done and the entire process. They’re happy they chose a proven, reliable company and are looking forward to backyard get-togethers again.
