Photo Album: Warehouse Floor Sinks Under Heavy Weight in Toronto, Ontario
Heavy machinery and equipment take a significant toll on the ground or floor below. Shaking, grinding, and machines' weight can lead to concrete failing prematurely, like in the case of a Toronto, Ontario, furniture factory.
The company had an 85-foot-long powder coat washing machine that they were replacing, but they wanted to make some repairs before doing so. The floor beneath the machine had settled, causing the concrete to crack and sink. Even the block wall separating two rooms had large areas of separation due to the floor.
Project Manager Paul Mendell met with the company and inspected the factory. He showed them our PolyLevel® Repair System and also brought in specialized equipment to complete an x-ray of the floor.
Once the company removed the machine, Foreman Bill McKeown started the repair. Bill injected our PolyLevel® high-density polyurethane beneath the concrete floor, lifting the slabs back up to an even grade. PolyLevel® also compresses fill soils and substrates below, preventing the issue from returning once the new machine is installed.
The company owner is thrilled with the repair. He can’t believe it was done in one day. We saved the factory thousands of dollars with our non-invasive methods.
