Photo Album: Risk of Basement Leak Due to Pooling Water in Toronto, Ontario
Exterior problems can quickly turn into an interior issue if not kept in check at your home.
A customer in Toronto, Ontario, decided to call Canadian Concrete Leveling to deal with a sloping walkway along the side of his home. Water was also pooling up against the wall, and he knew it was only a matter of time before it leaked into the basement. During the winter, the pooled water would also freeze, making it dangerous to use the path.
Project Manager Paul Mendell met with the customer at his home and inspected the concrete. After hearing how our PolyLevel® solution works, the customer was eager to set up a repair date.
Foreman Bill McKeown started by drilling dime-sized holes in several locations. He used these injection ports to install our PolyLevel® high-density polyurethane, lifting the concrete while compressing fill soils below.
The homeowner is thrilled with the completed repair. He has peace of mind knowing his basement won’t flood, and he can finally use the walkway during the winter again.
Foundation Gap
This gap between the slabs and the foundation wall was at risk of letting water seep through into the basement
Walkway Before
The entire path was tilting towards the foundation rather than away from it
Walkway After
The entire path was tilting towards the foundation rather than away from it
Injection Ports
After using the dime-sized holes we patch them with fresh concrete
