Photo Album: Sinking Concrete Puts Customer's Mother at Risk in Orangeville, Ontario
As our parents grow older, we step into a different role as their kids. We start to do more to help them out, giving them the freedom and peace of mind they gave us growing up.
In Orangeville, Ontario, a customer reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling to deal with sinking concrete at his mother's house. She lives with a bad hip, and her front walkway had settled significantly, making it hard for her to navigate the concrete. She was also having a new driveway poured and wanted the walkway to be level for a smooth transition.
Project Manager Paul Mendell travelled to the home and met with the son and mother. Paul inspected the concrete and explained to the customers our method of repair using PolyLevel®. They were happy to hear of such an affordable, non-invasive solution and eagerly booked a repair date.
Project Manager Kyle McKeown injected our high-density polyurethane through dime-sized injection ports. Once injected, PolyLevel® expands beneath the concrete's surface, lifting the slab and compressing the fill soils below.
Both the mother and son are thrilled with the finished work. The son has peace of mind knowing his mom can safely use her home, and the aesthetics of the walkway have significantly improved.
Gap
As the lower step settled it caused a significant gap to form
Uneven Grade
The concrete was uneven along the driveway side, and the customer wanted the newly poured driveway to have an even grade with the walkway
Walkway After
We brought the steps and path back to an even grade, and the customer is all ready for her new driveway
