Photo Album: Sinking Walkway Threatens Churchgoers in Toronto, Ontario
A church is an integral part of a community. While we all have different beliefs, a church offers a sense of community and outreach.
A church owner in Toronto, Ontario, has a large walkway that sits directly in front of the building. Churchgoers had started complaining that they were stumbling over the raised concrete edge. The owner decided to call Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Project Manager Joe McColl met with the customer and inspected the walkway. Joe identified several tripping hazards where the concrete had settled and recommended our PolyLevel® System. The client had never heard of anything like this but was excited after watching a demonstration video.
Foreman Kyle McKeown used our PolyLevel® System to lift and level the concrete slabs back to an even grade. PolyLevel® cures in only 15 minutes, so the church was back up in the running in no time.
The owner is thrilled with the job done by Canadian Concrete Leveling. He was afraid he would have to close down for a weekend to complete the repair. He couldn’t even tell that we had been there. Well, except for the level concrete!
Walkway Before
The sinking walkway took away from the beautiful church entrance
Sinking Slab
To start the PolyLevel® repair, Kyle drilled dime-sized holes in the concrete as injection ports
Leveled Slab
Once the concrete was back to an even grade, Kyle patched the holes with fresh concrete
Uneven
Concrete doesn't always sink evenly, so more PolyLevel® is used in certain areas than others
Walkway After
The concrete is free from tripping hazards and stabilized to prevent the issue from returning
