Photo Album: Sinking Garage Floor and Walkway in Toronto, Ontario

Sometimes when a problem occurs at your home, you can put off fixing it. But when the issue starts to spread, it's usually time to do something about it. In Toronto, Ontario, a customer was dealing with a few cracks in his garage and a sinking side walkway. The problem initially started as a small crack, but over time it spread throughout the entire garage floor. He was dreading having to pay for brand-new concrete, so he had been putting it off for several years. This year, he decided it was time.  Project Manager Joe McColl met with the homeowner and inspected the garage and walkway. Garage floors deal with a lot of weight each day, so sinking is expected if the floor isn't correctly supported. Joe determined poor fill materials had caused the floor and walkway to drop. Joe could hear the frustration in the client's voice as he described the problems he was having. He was still not sure if he wanted to go through with the repair, but after meeting with Joe, his opinion changed. Joe explained how our PolyLevel® System could lift concrete using high-density polyurethane injections through a 300-ft hose. He also told the customer about our NexusPro® Sealant System, which keeps out water and debris. He was amazed that we could repair the concrete without any heavy equipment or excavating and eagerly booked a repair date. Foreman Bill McKeown started by strategically drilling dime-sized holes in the garage floor and walkway. He injected PolyLevel® through these holes to lift the concrete back to a level grade. Once the concrete was repaired, he sealed any cracks and seams with NexusPro®. The customer is flabbergasted by the repair. He can't believe he didn't have to pour any new concrete, and he can barely tell that we were even there.
