Photo Album: Contractor Recommends CCL to Frustrated Homeowner in Oakville, Ontario
Sometimes, it takes meeting the right person or finding the right referral to find that missing piece of information you were looking for.
A customer in Oakville, Ontario, had all but given up on repairing her sinking concrete. Each time she entered her garage, she hit the throttle hard to make it over the lip and was worried about losing control during the winter. She didn’t want to endure the expense of having new slabs poured, but she learned an alternative solution after having a contractor work on her home.
The contractor recommended Canadian Concrete Leveling and reached out on her behalf. He met with Project Manager Paul Mendell. After inspecting the customer’s driveway and garage, he explained how our team uses our PolyLevel® System to lift and level sinking concrete using high-density polyurethane injections. The customer was so excited about this solution and booked a repair date.
Foreman Bill McKeown drilled dime-sized holes throughout the concrete to use as injection ports. As our two-part, high-density polyurethane gets injected, it expands below the concrete bringing the driveway back to its original grade, slightly below the floor. The smooth, level transition between the garage and driveway eliminates the 4-inch lip and prevents water from getting into the garage.
The homeowner is still blown away that a solution like this exists. She’s thrilled she didn’t have to spend thousands pouring new concrete and appreciates the hard work from the entire CCL team.
Drainage
The slab directly below the downspout had settled towards the home, causing water to drain next to the garage foundation
Cracking
As concrete shifts, it puts stress on the slabs that can cause concrete to crack
Garage Entry Before
The customer was worried slick winter conditions would make it impossible or dangerous to enter the garage due to the raised lip
Settlement
An almost four-inch lip can even take a toll on your vehicle after several years
Garage Entry After
The driveway now sits at the proper grade, allowing the customer to enter the garage without worry
