Photo Album: City of Toronto Calls CCL to Stabilize a Community Centre Foundation in Toronto, Ontario
Working with cities and towns is something Canadian Concrete Leveling is very proud of. We work with the communities to ensure they have a safe municipality. We usually return year after year to maintain and repair a variety of municipal properties.
In late 2019, the City of Toronto reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling about an arena renovation. The entire hockey arena was being renovated, including repairing a sinking changeroom floor and stabilizing a whole portion of the foundation.
The City’s contractor met with Project Manager Paul Mendell, and they reviewed the situation. Paul recommended deep injections using our PolyLevel® System to stabilize the foundation and lift the sinking floor.
Foreman Bill McKeown and Installation Specialist Mark Sealy injected our high-density polyurethane beneath the changeroom floor. As the polymers mix together, they expand, lifting the floor back to a level grade.
Next, the duo worked outside, drilling down below the footing of the foundation. Once several injection ports were established, they injected PolyLevel® deep below the foundation. This process compresses loose-fill soils and other materials with our polyurethane. Once the process was complete, we patched the injection holes with fresh concrete.
The contractor is extremely satisfied with the work and PolyLevel® System used by Canadian Concrete Leveling. We’re looking forward to working with the City of Toronto again soon.
