Photo Album: Son-In-Law Needs Sinking Steps Repaired in Burlington, Ontario
Taking care of family is a top priority. As parents and in-laws grow older, families sometimes bring them into their households and do what they can to help along the way.
A customer in Burlington, Ontario, lived with his mother-in-law and family in a beautiful house. The mother-in-law wasn't as mobile as she used to be, and sinking concrete was a concern for everyone. The customer knew the problem would only get worse, so he reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling to access the front step and driveway.
Project Manager Kyle O'Brien inspected the home's front area and explained to the customer why concrete sinks. When voids form, the slab can sink. Kyle assured the worried son-in-law we could fix the problem with our expanding polyurethane injections, PolyLevel®.
Our crew started by drilling dime-sized holes in the concrete to use as injection ports. We use a 300-ft heated hose to reach these tiny holes instead of using heavy equipment on the property. Next, precise injections of the two-part solution mix beneath the concrete, expanding to lift the slab above. This process also fills any voids and compresses the soil. Lastly, our team patched the holes with fresh concrete.
From reaching out to our Call Centre, meeting with Kyle, and waving goodbye to our crew, the customer was blown away by the honest work and fair price. Having the job done in a single day was the cherry on top! The customer was very happy with the entire process.

Steps After
Compressing fill soils and filling any gaps below the concrete stabilizes the step above and prevents the issue from returning
