Lifting up an Industrial Generator, Toronto, ON
Challenge
Challenge:
In Toronto, Ontario, an apartment generator sitting on a concrete pad had started to sink. Many residents approached property management, worried the generator could topple over. The building's general contractor contacted Canadian Concrete Leveling to see what we could do for this industrial generator. Our Director of Sales, Matt McCullough, visited the site to see how we could fix the concrete slab
Solution
Solution:
There appeared to be a void in the undersoil that caused the concrete slab to start sinking. Our PolyLevel® Injection System fits this job perfectly. Matt explained that our system would fill all the voids under the generator. The installation would permanently push the generator's base back up to the ground level. There are many fascinating aspects of our polyurethane:
- Expands rapidly from a high-density liquid
- Environmentally safe
- Hydrophobic material
- Cures quickly
Our Installation Supervisor, Kyle McKeown and Installation Specialist, Nestor Cabrera, drilled dime-sized holes in the concrete. Since the concrete was thicker than typical slabs, the team needed to go 1-metre through the concrete to inject the polyurethane to reach the voids. The general contractor was grateful our team lifted the generator back up safely and professionally.
