This home in Oakville, ON, had a front walkway that had become a big tripping hazard. The final portion toward the staircase had started to sink, making the step up onto the first step much more prominent than usual. The hazard was added on rainy and cold days as water would pool up and then freeze, making not only a tripping hazard but a slipping one. The concrete was in great condition and did not need to be replaced. The homeowners were looking for a solution that would be cost-effective yet level the walkway back to its original height; that was when they found Canadian Concrete Leveling. Our Project Manager, Danny Dos Santos, went to the home to conduct our company's free inspection. He discovered that if the homeowners were to leave the concrete the way it was, water would eat away at the support underneath the staircase, causing more damage. Danny recommended were our PolyLevel® injection system to lift the concrete back up and then our NexusPro® sealant to seal the joints. After everything was mapped out and finalized, our installation foreman and specialist arrived. Our system is not only cost-effective, but it is quick curing, minimally invasive, and permanent. The duo began drilling small dime-sized holes into the base of the steps where the injections would occur. The leveling process was simple since the polyurethane being pumped under the concrete can lift and cure on a short amount of tie. After the concrete was levelled, it was time to seal the injection holes with grout for a seamless look once everything was done. Now it is time to fill the joints with our NexusPro®. The difference with Nexus and competing brands is that this sealant does not dry out, crack, is malleable, and is colour-matched for a perfect finish. The results were terrific; take a look for yourself!
