Pool Deck Lifting & Leveling
Challenge
The client had installed a pool deck consisting of interlocking stones on top of a concrete slab. The slab had sunk in areas around the pool, giving the appearance of “waves” in the interlock, as well as causing dangerous trip hazards. It had also lifted away from the pool coping.
Solution
Several rows of the interlocking stones were removed to expose the concrete slab below. Through dime-sized holes, two-part hydrophobic, high-density polyurethane was injected under the pool deck slab. This process compressed the substrate, filled any voids below the slab to stabilize it, and lifted the slab back to its original pour height. The interlocking stones are now level, alleviating the trip hazards. The slab is now level with the pool coping again.
