Trip Hazard Removal Changes This Families Life in Markham, ON
Challenge
Homeowner in Markham, ON, had a walkway that had sunk, causing a massive gap in the last step of her stairs. So bad, that her 97-year-old father had tripped on her walkway the previous year. After he fell, he could no longer risk stepping onto the hazardous stairs with his walker. He had not left the house in 6 months due to his fear. The homeowner was devastated that this was happening. She knew that if she wanted her father to feel safe and be able to leave the house, she would need to have the walkway repaired.
Solution
The homeowner called Canadian Concrete Leveling, and Project Manager, Paul Mendell, attended the home to assess the walkway and stairs. He came up with the solution that injecting the high-density, structural-grade polymer, a PolyLevel® Injection would be needed to lift and level the walkway.
Doing so would alleviate the trip hazards and lift the slabs in front of the step to their original pour height. This will make the step height from the walkway to the bottom step back within building code height.
Once Paul came up with the perfect solution, Installation Foreman, Kyle McKeown, and his team attended the home with to inject the PolyLevel®, eliminating all trip hazards. They were quick, efficient, and the homeowner was ecstatic with the results.
Even better news, since we performed the repair, her father has left the house for the first time in more than six months. The homeowner is so thrilled with the results and peace of mind it has given her. We were so happy to be able to make this happen for the homeowner and her father.
