Shifting Concrete Creates Tripping Hazards Around Pool in Creemore, Ontario
Challenge
A pool is a fantastic asset to a home. They give us a place to relax and add value to our property. Whether it’s lounging around on the pool deck or going for a swim, they’re often a place people can be found during the warmer months. But when tripping hazards threaten the safety of the pool, those fun summer days can cease to exist, or even worse; someone can get hurt.
A customer in Creemore, Ontario, reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling for a free inspection, hoping to eliminate several tripping hazards around her pool. The poured concrete pool deck had shifted and cracked over the years, creating a potential danger for family and friends.
Solution
Project Manager Joe McColl met with the customer and inspected the concrete patio. The customer was happy to hear we had the perfect solution for her pool problem, and she booked a date for the repairs.
Foreman Bill McKeown and Installation Specialist Greg Sigalis used our PolyLevel® Injection System to lift the concrete slabs and level the patio. PolyLevel® is a high-density polyurethane that not only raises the concrete but also fills any voids below, preventing further settlement in the future. Since the shifting concrete had also caused cracking, Bill and Greg used NexusPro® to seal the cracks. NexusPro® cures quickly and can shift with the concrete, creating a lasting bond.
The customer is delighted that the tripping hazards around her pool are gone. The sealed cracks make the deck look more aesthetically pleasing, and she was happy to save money with our unique systems rather than forking out thousands to redo the concrete.
