Trip and Fall Due to Sinking Concrete Outside Toronto, Ontario, Store
Challenge
One of the biggest fears for property managers is that someone gets hurt on their property. Accidents happen, of course, but it’s a lousy feeling nonetheless and can even result in financial trouble. Regardless of who’s at fault, it’s an issue that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later to prevent it from continuing.
Unfortunately, for a Toronto, Ontario, shopping plaza owner, this was the case. Concrete had settled in the walkway surround his building, causing tripping hazards that resulted in a fall. Anxious about it happening again, he reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling for a solution.
Solution
Fortunately for the property manager, we have the perfect fix for his problem. Project Manager CJ Sharp met with the him to show him how our products work and set up a date for the repairs.
Foreman Bill McKeown injected a high-density polymer beneath the concrete, raising it, so it’s level again. Our PolyLevel® System is minimally invasive and can be completed in a matter of hours. Since ground settlement caused this problem in the first place, our system also compacts the soil and fills any voids beneath. This prevents the problem from returning and creating another tripping hazard.
Impressed with our work the first time around, the customer called us back a year later to fix a few more tripping hazards around the property. With his tripping dangers gone, his customers are safe once again, and he finally has peace of mind.
