Sinking Concrete Postpones Renovation in Brooklin, Ontario
Challenge
Husbands and wives don't always agree on what to do with their home, but they can typically agree when something needs to be repaired.
A husband and wife in Brooklin, Ontario, called Canadian Concrete Leveling after dealing with sinking concrete. They wanted to renovate but didn't want any issues to arise down the road. The plan was to build a deck over top of the back patio slab, and the husband wanted the garage floor to be level so the door would seal properly.
Solution
Project Manager Kyle O'Brien met with the homeowners and inspected their garage floor and back patio. He showed them how we could fix the concrete, and a date was set up for the repair.
Foreman Bill McKeown started the process by drilling dime-sized holes throughout the concrete. They are used as injection ports for our high-density polyurethane, PolyLevel®. As it's injected beneath the concrete it expands, lifting the slab. This also compresses fill soils, which prevent any further settlement. Once the concrete was back to an even grade, Bill patched the holes.
The couple is thrilled that the work is done. They can start renovating and do so without worrying down the road.
