Sinking Pool Deck Threatens Backyard Oasis in Whitby, Ontario
Challenge
When you invest thousands of dollars and many hours of hard work into something, you want it to be perfect.
In Whitby, Ontario, a customer called us after creating his personal “Margaritaville” in his backyard. He spent years working on the mini oasis only to have his patterned concrete pool sink. He hated the look of it and wanted the area to be safe.
After meeting with Project Manager Kyle O’Brien, a plan was created to bring his concrete patio back to an even grade, and a date was set for the repair.
Solution
Foreman Bill McKeown completed the repair using our PolyLevel® solution. He injected the high-density polyurethane through dime-sized holes in the concrete, where it expands beneath. This lifts the slab and compresses any fill soils below, helping to prevent the issue from returning. Once the concrete was level, Bill patched the injection holes with fresh concrete.
The customer is thrilled with the work done. He no longer has to worry about his family tripping around the pool, and he didn’t need to rip out hundreds of pounds of concrete.
