Pool Deck Sinks Days After Installation in Cobourg, Ontario
Challenge
Owning a company means keeping your customers happy and holding a level of integrity behind your work.
In Cobourg, Ontario, a pool company reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling after installing a new pool for a customer. The pool turned out great and looked wonderful,
but the concrete patio by the pool stairs started sinking right away. The homeowner was very disappointed and was reluctantly preparing for another excavation in their backyard, and the pool company didn’t want to put more hours into the repair.
Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the pool contractor and showed him our PolyLevel® solution. The contractor was delighted to see an option that didn’t require jackhammering the brand-new concrete, and a date was set for the repair.
Solution
Foreman Bill McKeown carefully drilled dime-sized holes in the concrete deck. These small holes are used as injection ports for our high-density polyurethane. As the mix is injected, it expands below the concrete, lifting the slab and compressing any fill soils below. After the concrete was back to grade, Bill used fresh concrete to patch the holes.
The contractor and homeowner are both very happy with the work done by Canadian Concrete Leveling. They both saved time using our solution, and their pool was ready to use the same day as the repair.
