Garage Floor Fails Under Heavy Load in Sebright, Ontario
Challenge
Garage floors deal with heavyweight daily. We park on them, store goods on them, and they take the brunt of a lot of abuse.
A customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling after dealing with a cracked and sinking garage floor for several years. He used the garage every day, but the issue was growing worse with more use. The homeowner thought he would have to rip out the floor and pour new concrete, but he was pleasantly surprised after meeting with Project Manager Paul Mendell.
Solution
Paul showed the customer how we could repair his concrete in a day’s work without ripping anything out. He was thrilled to hear that this was an option, and a date was booked for our crew to complete the repair.
Foreman Bill McKeown started by drilling dime-sized holes in strategic locations throughout the concrete floor. Using these holes, he injected our PolyLevel® high-density polyurethane, which expands beneath the concrete. This lifts the slab back to an even grade while compressing loose fill soils to prevent the issue from returning.
The customer can’t believe his garage was repaired in such a short time with such excellent results. He has peace of mind knowing his floor won’t fail on him, and he appreciates the work done by the entire CCL team.
