Customer Deals with Sinking Front Steps in Whitby, Ontario
Challenge
Sinking front steps are never a good look for a home. They can lead to injuries, make snow removal difficult, and don’t look very nice.
In Whitby, Ontario, a customer decided to call Canadian Concrete Leveling after dealing with sinking front steps for several years. They were concerned someone would fall and hurt themselves, so they met with Project Manager Joe McColl.
Solution
Joe showed the customer our PolyLevel® solution, and the customer booked a date for the repair. Foreman Kyle McKeown drilled dime-sized holes in the steps to inject our high-density polyurethane. When PolyLevel® is injected, it expands beneath the concrete, lifting the slab and compressing fill soils below. With the grade of the concrete corrected, Kyle patched the holes with fresh concrete. To ensure water wouldn’t seep beneath the slabs we also sealed the crack with our NexusPro® Sealant.
The customer still can’t believe that we could repair her steps in a day’s work. She’s happy she found a non-invasive alternative to removing the concrete.
