Home Foundation Threatened by Sinking Concrete in Richmond Hill, Ontario
Challenge
There is an endless amount of variables that affect our homes at any given moment. Some don’t cause any long-term issues, while others need to be dealt with right away.
A customer in Richmond Hill, Ontario, noticed that his side walkway no longer seemed level. Water would constantly pool next to his foundation, and he was growing concerned about any long-term damages. He wasn’t sure what was going on, but he stumbled upon Canadian Concrete Leveling after a little bit of research.
Solution
Project Manager Joe McColl travelled to the home and completed a thorough inspection of the walkway. Joe explained to the homeowner why concrete fails and how our PolyLevel® solution could repair it, and he was excited to book a date for the repair.
Foreman Bill McKeown started the repair by drilling dime-sized holes in strategic locations throughout the concrete. Bill injected our high-density polyurethane through these holes, lifting the concrete and compressing any loose fill soils below. To prevent water and debris from getting in between the concrete and foundation, Bill sealed any seams with our NexusPro® Sealant. Lastly, he patched the holes with fresh concrete to give the concrete a finished aesthetic.
The homeowner can’t believe such a big problem could be corrected in a single day’s work. He’s glad he found Canadian Concrete Leveling and decided to go through with the repair.
