Sinking Pool Deck Puts Anxious Kids at Risk in Whitby, Ontario
Challenge
Preparing your home for different seasons can mean a lot of things. We clean up our backyards for the summer and put everything in storage for the winter. But sometimes, repairs need to take place before a new season comes around.
A customer in Whitby, Ontario, has a nice backyard pool that his kids love to use. They can’t wait for summer so they can almost live in the backyard. As the snow melted off the pool deck though, the customer noticed his concrete had settled. This created a few tripping hazards and made the homeowner wonder if the pool was still safe to use. He knew his kids would be out there as soon as possible, so he needed a solution even sooner.
Solution
Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the concerned parent and inspected the pool. Kyle showed him our PolyLevel® System and explained things like animal burrows could cause concrete slabs to sink. Kyle also explained how our NexusPro® System could seal any cracks in the concrete while staying resistant to movement and UV rays.
Foreman Mark Sealy drilled dime-sized holes in the concrete to start the repair. He used these holes to inject our PolyLevel® System beneath the concrete. After eliminating the tripping hazards, Mark sealed any cracks and seams with our NexusPro® System.
The customer was relieved to see his pool be repaired. He was awestruck that we were able to repair the entire deck in only a half day’s work and was pleasantly surprised to be using the pool later that day.
