Failing Pool Deck Cracks Retaining Wall in Peterborough, Ontario
Challenge
A pool is a worthwhile addition to a home, but it comes with a steep price tag. It’s not something you’d ever want to redo, so keeping your backyard oasis in great shape is vital.
A customer in Peterborough, Ontario, called Canadian Concrete Leveling with some serious concerns about his pool and surrounding patio. The entire backyard was built up and the back portion was supported by a concrete retaining wall. The wall had cracked due to pressure, and the back portion of the pool deck was sinking towards the retaining wall due to a below-ground void. The customer was worried about the entire pool giving way.
Solution
Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the worried homeowner and put his mind at ease by explaining how we could repair his pool deck. Kyle walked him through how our PolyLevel® System would fill the void using expanding polyurethane injections while lifting the sinking concrete.
Foreman Kyle McKeown started by drilling dime-sized holes in the concrete to use as injection ports. He strategically installed PolyLevel® to fill the void and lift the concrete, providing the necessary support to prevent the issue from returning. To give the concrete a finished look Kyle patched the holes with fresh concrete.
The homeowner is blown away that he didn’t need to excavate any concrete and he appreciates the work done by the entire Canadian Concrete Leveling team.
