Concerned Grandparents Repair Backyard Patio in Oshawa, Ontario
Challenge
Having grandchildren is an exciting time of your life. You do everything you can for them, and sometimes, that means repairing your backyard.
A couple in Oshawa, Ontario, was dealing with sinking concrete slabs around their pool. As the slabs settled due to poor fill soil, they formed trip hazards. The couple loved having their granddaughter over but were concerned about her falling around the pool. The patio was also sloped towards the home’s foundation, concerning the customers that water would find its way into their basement.
Solution
The clients reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling and met with Project Manager Kyle O’Brien. Kyle completed a thorough inspection of the backyard and explained to the customers that poorly packed soil led to their concrete sinking. They were worried the repairs would take a long time and cause quite a disruption, but Kyle quickly put their minds at ease by walking them through our PolyLevel® System.
Foreman Kyle McKeown started the repair by drilling dime-sized holes in the patio and around the pool. Our PolyLevel® System works by injecting a two-part high-density polyurethane beneath the concrete. As the two polymers mix, they expand, forcing the slab up and compressing the fill material below. Once Kyle completed the repair, he patched the injection ports with fresh concrete.
The couple is looking forward to a safe summer with their family and granddaughter. They were excited to see the finished work and appreciate the experience with Canadian Concrete Leveling.
