Customer Tired of Dealing with an Icy Driveway in Ajax, Ontario
Challenge
Preventing ice buildup is something Canadians tackle all winter long. The problem never seems to go away, but we do all we can to keep it at bay.
An elderly customer in Ajax, Ontario, reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling after putting up with pooling water for several years. Her entire driveway slab had settled in front of the garage, creating a shallow area where water always built up and froze.
Solution
Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the frustrated homeowner and inspected the entire driveway and garage. Kyle determined that water had washed away fill material beneath the slab, creating a void where the concrete settled. He walked the customer through our non-invasive PolyLevel® System, which uses expanding polyurethane to lift concrete. She was excited to hear she could repair her concrete before Winter and booked a repair date.
Foreman Kyle McKeown started the repair by drilling dime-sized holes in the concrete surface to use as injection ports. He securely mounted our poly gun into the concrete before pumping the required amount of PolyLevel® beneath the surface. Once the driveway was lifted, Kyle patched the holes with fresh concrete.
The homeowner is thrilled that her driveway is prepared. She doesn’t have to endure another winter of ice buildup and is glad she found a non-invasive solution.
