Brand-New Pool Deck Already Sinking Within Months in Toronto, Ontario
Challenge
When you spend thousands of dollars on your home, you expect the work to last for many years.
A customer in Toronto, Ontario, had just had a brand-new pool installed at their home. It paired well with their backyard putting green, and the kids couldn’t wait to start swimming.
Unfortunately, only months after installation, the pool deck began to sink. The frustrated customer reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling, afraid he would have to redo the entire patio.
Solution
Director of Sales Matt McCullough quickly put his worries to rest and explained how poor fill soils during construction lead to sinking concrete. He showed the customer examples of our PolyLevel® System, which uses high-density polyurethane injections to lift sinking concrete, and our NexusPro® Sealant to seal any cracks.
Foreman Bill McKeown used dime-sized holes where injection ports were placed to install PolyLevel® and lift the slabs. Once the pool deck was back to a safe grade, Bill sealed any cracks and seams with our NexusPro® Sealant. This unique sealant comes in six different colours, resists harsh UV rays, and is flexible enough to shift with the concrete while providing a waterproof seal.
The customer and his family are blown away by how non-invasive the entire process was. They’re looking forward to their first year with the pool and appreciate the work from the Canadian Concrete Leveling team.
