Sinking Pool Deck Worries Parents in Burlington, Ontario
Challenge
The concrete surrounding your pool is just as important as the liner that coats the walls. The patio gives you a place to step out, of course, but it also ensures proper drainage, and makes sure the pool’s edge holds shape. If this concrete begins to fail, it can lead to tripping hazards and costly damage.
In Burlington, Ontario, a customer reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling after growing concerned about his concrete pool deck. Several areas had settled, and large trip hazards formed. The customer and his wife felt the area was no longer safe for them to use, let alone their kids, so they booked an appointment through our Call Centre.
Solution
Project Manager Alex Balson travelled to the home and completed a thorough inspection of the backyard. He discovered soil washout around the pool had created gaps, allowing the slabs to sink. He recommended our PolyLevel® System as the perfect solution and explained to the customers how it works.
PolyLevel® is installed through dime-sized injection ports beneath the concrete, where it expands. As this happens it lifts the slab above and compresses fill materials below. To deal with any cracks or seams Alex suggested the family opt for our NexusPro® Sealant as part of the repair, sealing out debris with UV-resistant caulking.
Foreman Bill McKeown carefully used this application in several trouble spots around the pool before sealing the small injection holes with fresh concrete.
The customers are thrilled to have their pool back. They plan on staying home more this summer and are happy to know their kids are safe to roam around the area. No more stubbed toes for them are a plus, too!
