Excuse Me, Your Foundation Is Showing...
Challenge
Moving out of the city is a good and bad thing. Convenience in the city drives people, but some need more room. Our clients recently moved out of Toronto's core to a slower-paced life in Peterborough. When they bought this new home, they realized they needed to do some repairs to make it more functional. Unfortunately, one of these repairs was at the front of the home. They had a walkway sinking to the one side against the house, revealing the foundation. There are two things wrong with this. One is that it is a lopsided tripping hazard, and the second is the foundation is exposed. First, the sinking concrete made the homeowners worry that people would trip in and out of the home. Secondly, the foundation exposure could cause basement leaking and deterioration of the concrete.
Solution
After some research, the owners found CCL. They had Project Manager Kyle O'Brien come by and look at the problematic walkway. He suggested that PolyLevel® would lift the concrete without re-pouring any new concrete. Our clients were happy to see that it could be salvageable without putting more concrete, which would cost a fortune. The Installation team of Kyle McKeown and Brandon started the work. With the minimal invasion of PolyLevel®, injections are dime-sized and can cure within 60 minutes meaning the foot traffic was not compromised. The concrete was lifted almost immediately, making it look like a magic trick! The homeowners were astonished by the speed of the work, the PolyLevel® raising, and how the walkway looked after. They were pleased with the whole process and would recommend it. The foundation is covered up and will never be seen again!
