Hidden Stair Disaster ❄️
Challenge
In Stratford, Ontario, the home had a step sink on its front entry staircase. With the stairs now being uneven, guests had difficulty going up and down without tripping. In the colder seasons, snow would cover the stair, making them look level, but underneath was a set leader of snow, making the height perception off. Since the stairs do lead into the front entrance, our clients wanted to fix them without replacing the step. Canadian Concrete Leveling can level out the staircase without costing the clients to replace the stairs entirely, they save time with it being done on the same day, and the curing process only takes minutes to do! With that explained to our clients, they agreed immediately to have one of our Project Managers check out the fallen step. Our Project Manager, Andy Moncrieff, arrived and gave the homeowners a rundown.
Solution
With the winter months coming to an end, these homeowners would like to use their walkways without any issues. Our Installation Specialist Kyle McKeown arrived on the site to start the job. The main points of focus are the front steps. The homeowners didn't realize that the walkway running alongside was revealing some tripping hazards. Kyle unloaded the hose from the truck and made dime-sized holes to the lowest points the concrete sat. Our poly then lifted the stair to the perfect height; the pathway was lifted the same way. The great thing about our PolyLevel® polyurethane injections is that it cures almost instantaneously when injected, which can help with not being inconvenient if a job site needs to use the concrete right after. The process also takes under fifteen minutes from unloading the equipment, setting up, applying, and cleaning up. Our clients were happy with our work from start to finish and will not worry about tripping around the property. All tripping hazards are nowhere to be found.
