Trippin At The Pool Party
Challenge
Summer is coming, the pool is opening up, and nothing beats a relaxing time by the pool deck. Walking around the pool should be a breeze from the shallow to the deep end. In this case, a home in Guelph had a problem when entertaining guests by the poolside. They've had tripping incidents when roaming the perimeter of the pool. Especially being barefoot, tripping over wet concrete can result in serious injury, leaving our homeowners worried. With the slabs being in good condition and how costly new concrete would be to install, they wanted a cost-effective solution. Canadian Concrete Leveling fulfilled their needs and completed the work promptly.
Solution
Our Project Manager, Andy Moncrieff, came to the home and went by the pool deck to dive deep into this issue. He developed a schematic of what will be done and what location of the pool deck he is targeting. Luckily our work is non-invasive and does not disrupt foot traffic. On a later day, our installation team, Kyle McKeown and Russell, arrived to start the work. They will be using our highly dense polyurethane, PolyLevel®, to lift the sinking concrete around the pool to its original height. The great thing about our PolyLevel® is that it immediately fills any voids underneath the concrete in seconds, is lightweight, and can hold longer than mud jacking. Where the Dime-sized PolyLevel® holes went were then sealed off to perfection. You can now ask yourself, "What holes? I don't see them...".
The pool deck wasn't the only problematic part of the home; it was also the side of the house's floor-to-wall joint. The joints sealant had started cracking, allowing water to come into the home's foundation, a big no-no. The concrete was already level, so Kyle and Russell used our durable sealant, NexusPro®. Nexus is a malleable, waterproof, and chemical resistant sealant that never dries out, lasting a lifetime. After the work was completed, the homeowners were ecstatic that they could use the pool deck with ease. Tripping hazards are not a part of your swimming routine.
