There Goes My Porch!
Challenge
A porch in Windsor, Ontario, has seen better days. The porch has fallen and turned the front step into a tripping hazard. Navigating to the concrete driveway, the homeowners also noticed a large crack that could result in another tripping hazard, encourage water damage, and aid in shifting. They needed to seal off the crack and lift the step back to its original position to make this home safe for the owners and guests entering the home. Canadian Concrete Leveling was called to the scene!
Solution
With the porch going down literally, the homeowners wanted to lift the concrete back to its original position without replacing the concrete. Thankfully, Canadian Concrete Leveling can do precisely that! Our Project Manager Andy Moncrieff was called to the home to investigate the problems at hand. He provided a schematic of the problematic points and how our installation team can fix them.
On a later day, our installation team of Kyle McKeown and Russell VanderMeulen started the work. They used our high-density polyurethane to lift the porch back up and lessen the gap between the bottom step and the top. The process took under 15 minutes to set up and inject. The great thing about our polyurethane is that it expands quickly and holds its position permanently instead of other methods like mud jacking. Time to look at the crack in the driveway. The crack runs alongside most of the porch, which needed to be sealed to prevent any substance from breaching the concrete’s crack. Canadian Concrete Leveling, we have a malleable, anti-cracking, chemical resistant, and waterproof NexusPro® sealant that is easily applied. Before the customer could even remember what the porch looked like, the job was already done!
The customers were delighted with the work, cleanup, and how professional our team was from start to finish. The porch is going nowhere!
