Around the Edges, Levelling pool deck,
Challenge
Tripping around the pool is never something you ever look forward to. However, in Oakville, Ontario, this pool deck was undergoing some settling, causing tripping hazards, and the underneath of the pool was exposed to the elements. In addition, lifting the concrete allowed water from the swimming pool to seep into the pool's foundation, which over time, can affect the integrity and may cause cracking. The homeowners were worried about tripping when trying to enjoy the pool, so they would like a solution that could level the concrete permanently.
Solution
After some research, the homeowners found Canadian Concrete Leveling to revive the pool deck. Our Project Manager, Matt Ruskin, arrived at the home to provide a solution for the owners. He quoted the homeowners for a polyurethane injection method to lift the slabs around the pool back to their original state. The polyurethane we provide quickly expands and solidifies almost immediately, so the deck can be used directly. On a later day, our installation duo Kyle and JP came to the home to start the work. They will be drilling small, dime-sized holes into the lowest points of the concrete. These holes will be the entry points for our poly. From there, our polyurethane will be injected in, and the concrete pool deck will be lifted immediately. Our method is very minimally invasive and lightweight so that the concrete below doesn't settle again, resulting in further shifting. Before the homeowners could remember what the concrete looked like, the pool deck lifted in front of them.
