Concrete Getting Levelled in this New Build, Port Sydney, ON
Challenge
This new build in Port Sydney, Ontario, had experienced a sinking basement floor. The home was not complete but had all the electrical, plumbing, walls, and concrete. With the seasons changing and the house not being finished, the Spring thawing season made the basement concrete flooring sink along the perimeter, leaving the middle higher than the rest. Especially with this being a custom-built home, the lump in the middle of the basement would not slide by the new homeowners. Before continuing, the home builder must solve the problem without overbudgeting.
Solution
After researching and looking at all their options, the homer builder found Canadian Concrete Leveling. We can grab your existing concrete, drill small coin-sized holes, and lift the concrete without having to do a multiple-day repouring concrete procedure. We at Canadian Concrete Leveling are efficient, affordable, and a permanent fix. With our most experienced Project Manager, Paul Mendell, arriving at the home, he was able to provide the builders with a reasonable quote within the budget. After the quote was made and the schematic was drafted, it was time to complete the work so the construction could resume. On a later day, we had our Installation Professional, Bill McKeown, arrive at the job site and begin the work. First, the builders cut a hole in the middle where the concrete was curving upwards, making that elevated hill. Next, Bill started drilling holes around the central pit so our polyurethane could be injected and permanently lift the concrete. Thankfully, the polyurethane is light enough to not interrupt the soil underneath with extra weight, resulting in more shifting. The injections took less than an hour, and the concrete lifted almost immediately. The curing process is immaculate since it takes less than a minute to cure correctly. If the builder went with repouring concrete, it would've been too expensive, and the curing time would cut into the job's deadline. The job was so well done that it blew the builder away, and he would recommend us to anyone who needs levelling done.
