Corner in Woodbridge Ontario is Sinking Preventing Renovations
Challenge
Having a big home can be a blessing and a curse. Unfortunately, this healthy-sized home in Woodbridge, Ontario, had a problem with its back patio. The corner had started settling, exposing the home's foundation. These homeowners wanted to renovate the basement, and with the back patio not being involved in renovations, they wanted to find a solution that would not cut into their renovation budget. In addition, they were worried that if they ignored the sinking, flooding could happen in the basement after renovations because of the outside water pooling in the corner. Finding a solution was easy after receiving a recommendation from a neighbour. Some research later, Canadian Concrete Leveling was found, and we were able to send our Project Manager, Kyle O'Brien, to the home.
Solution
Kyle quoted our new clients with our polyurethane injection system, where we lift the sinking concrete using high-density polyurethane. It's a light, permanent, durable method that does not interrupt the soil underneath. After the quote was given, it was time to send our installation crew to the home and save this sinking corner. Our Installation Specialist, Bill McKeown, arrived at the house and unloaded his materials. The concrete repair process only takes under an hour from start to finish since the poly takes minutes to cure. Bill began drilling dime-sized holes into the patio around the lower points, where the concrete needs the most levelling love. He began injecting our PolyLevel® into the holes, and the voids filled up almost instantaneously. This polyurethane is a quick-expanding liquid-like substance that expands once underneath the concrete, so all gaps get filled with no problem. The homeowners were very pleased by the pricing, efficiency, and professionalism of Canadian Concrete Leveling. This older home in Woodbridge, Ontario, can renovate its basement worry-free.
