Sinking Front Step, Queensville, ON
Challenge
Sinking concrete at the front of a house creates hazards that get fixed quickly and easily by Canadian Concrete Leveling. The walkway at this house in Queensville, Ontario, was sinking below the building code. The height difference between the walkway and the entrance made it difficult to step safely into the house. Since it was sinking, the walkway gave rainwater or melting snow a chance to pool at the front door or run toward the house and down the foundation wall, potentially leaking into the basement. Winter temperatures turn the pooling water into an icy walkway and treacherous path in or out of the house. The concerned homeowners wanted to eliminate all of these hazardous conditions. A neighbour recommended Canadian Concrete Leveling to fix the sinking concrete. Without hesitating, the homeowners called our office to set up a free inspection and quote.
Solution
Our expert Project Manager Paul Mendell went out to meet the homeowners and inspected the entire walkway. He recommended our non-invasive PolyLevel® Injection System and our NexusPro® Sealant. PolyLevel's high-density, structural-grade polymer is injected through the concrete by our professional team of installers led by Bill McKeown. As the polymer expands under the concrete, it lifts the walkway back to its original height, making it level once again. NexusPro® sealed the gap beside the foundation. No more pooling water. No more water running towards the foundation. Hazards eliminated! In only a couple of hours, the homeowners could use their walkway safely and breathed a sigh of relief that their basement would stay dry.
