Not That Way Concrete
Challenge
Challenge
In Lake Scugog, a new homeowner purchased this secluded bungalow fixer-upper. After fixing the entire interior, our client found that the basement had unwanted water bubbling in behind the walls – the sump pump was working overtime. After imagining all the possibilities about why water was getting inside the home, he went outside and noticed the back concrete patio had started sinking toward the house. He decided this must be the reason water was flowing toward the foundation on rainy days and funneling its way into the basement. Weighing out the repair options for this concrete patio that was in pristine condition, Canadian Concrete Leveling was the only viable choice. Our Project Manager, Kyle O'Brien, recommended our PolyLevel® Injection System that could lift and level the back patio to its original height. Then our team would use NexusPro® Sealant to seal the joints and stop water from getting in the cracks.
Solution
Our Installation Foreman, Kyle McKeown and Nestor Cabrera saved the day by lifting and levelling the back patio. Kyle started by drilling dime-sized holes into each concrete section as Nestor followed closely with our injection ports that are used for our PolyLevel® System. Kyle worked his way along the concrete injecting polyurethane into each port. After some time, the concrete was back to its original height. The homeowner could actually see the difference along the foundation. A few days later, our NexusPro Installation Specialist, Cameron Saunders sealed the joints to stop water from getting in the cracks. Once the project was complete, the homeowner was shocked to see the final results. He did not think any material could support the weight of his patio and angle it away from the house. This home's sump pump can now have a breather without outside water entering the basement.
