Immaculate Staircase Saved! Oakville ON
Challenge
Challenge:
This homeowner in Oakville, Ontario, wanted to do some landscaping around her home and realized something alarming. Her front steps started to sink away from the porch, leaving an open crack. The step up to the landing was substantially more significant, and she was worried that rainwater would make its way between the gap and tamper with the undersoil. The best solution she found was Canadian Concrete Leveling. Since the concrete was pristine, it only made sense to lift it versus replace it. Our Director of Sales, Matt McCullough, went to the home to showcase our products and how they would raise these steps back to their original height.
Solution
Solution:
Matt showed our client our PolyLevel® injection system. The crew injects a quick-expanding and high-density polyurethane beneath the concrete. The material is hydrophobic, lightweight and cures rapidly. The undersoil is not disturbed once the concrete is level again. This system made sense to the homeowner. She swiftly agreed to proceed with an installation date. Our Installation Foreman, Bill McKeown, and Installation Specialist, Liam McKeown, started the levelling process. Our PolyLevel® system is minimally invasive. The crew injects polyurethane through dime-sized holes to lift the concrete. After achieving the desired height, Liam covered the injection holes with fresh concrete. Our Sealant Installation Specialist, Cameron Saunders, sealed the joint between the step and the porch with our NexusPro® sealant. It's colour-matched to blend in with the existing concrete, is chemical resistant, and is anti-cracking, letting it last longer than other materials. The homeowner was baffled by the results and the fact that she did not have to spend more money to replace the entire staircase – immaculate results for immaculate concrete.
