Garage Floor Started Sinking and Split in Half
Challenge
In Brampton, Ontario, a homeowner of 40+ years had noticed that his garage started to sink on the one side. The neighbouring house was slightly higher than his, so rainwater would trickle to the side of his home and dig its way into its thick garage concrete floor. The constant moisture underneath resulted in the back half of the garage sinking and splitting it horizontally. The homeowner took pride in his home and acted fast once this started to get noticeable. He contacted our team at Canadian Concrete Leveling, and we were able to have one of our Project Managers, Paul Mendell come to th home.
Solution
Paul came to the home and immediately knew what work needed to be done. He suggested we slowly raise the concrete with our PolyLevel® Injection System, then seal the crack with a colour-matched sealant called NexusPro®. He researched other levelling methods and agreed immediately to Paul's recommendation, knowing that his garage would be saved for a fraction of the price. On a later date, our Installation Foreman, Bill McKeown, and Specialist, Nestor Cabrera, arrived to get the garage floor level again. Bill started drilling 16 dime-sized holes evenly while Nestor began, followed by injecting our high-density polyurethane. The goal was to transform the floor from sinking into slightly sloped so water could run off onto the driveway and away from the home. After precisely levelling, it was time to seal the big crack running across the garage. The results stunned the homeowner; he can now freely park his cars and enjoy his space again. He was beyond grateful for the work.
