Concrete is a durable and robust material used for many different applications. As strong as it is, it still has weaknesses, and sometimes problems can occur.
A customer in Brampton, Ontario, was dealing with a cracked concrete floor in their garage and a sinking walkway. A void had formed beneath the floor, causing the concrete to sink and crack. The homeowner was wary about fixing the problem since he thought he would need to tear up the entire floor, so he reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Project Manager Joe McColl met with the customer and inspected his property. Joe showed the customer our solutions, and he was thrilled to hear we had a non-invasive alternative.
Foreman Kyle McKeown injected our PolyLevel® polyurethane to lift the garage floor and fix the void below. Our solution not only fixes the garage but also prevents further sinking, adding stability to the floor. Kyle also lifted the walkway back to a level grade, removing the customer’s trip hazard.
The customer is very happy that his garage and walkway have been repaired. We fixed everything for a fraction of the cost he anticipated and did so without having to excavate any concrete.
Walkway Before
The void causing issues in the garage likely played a hand in creating this tripping hazard as well
Garage Before
Fully removing a garage floor and pouring new concrete takes a large toll on your carbon footprint compared to our methods
Walkway After
Our PolyLevel® injections can have a concrete slab lifted and leveled within minutes to a couple of hours depending on the size
Garage Cracking
When voids form, the concrete is no longer properly supported. Since garages hold a ton of weight, cracking and sinking starts to occur
Garage After
The customer's investment is protected, and the garage floor has been reinforced to prevent settlement in the future
Garage Floor
Repairing the garage and walkway also ensures water will drain away from the garage, preventing even more possible issues
