Residential Photo Album: Backyard Patio Sinking in Etobicoke, Ontario
A back patio is a nice change from a yard full of grass and gives you an enjoyable backyard space for guests. Typically, a patio is made from concrete, and sometimes these concrete slabs run into some problems.
A customer in Etobicoke, Ontario, had a backyard patio with some concrete issues. As the slabs sank and shifted, several cracks formed, and water was continually pooling in the middle of the patio. Ready to fix the problem, the customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling and met with Project Manager Joe McColl.
Joe inspected the backyard and determined that a few voids were causing the concrete to sink. He showed the homeowner our solution, and a date was set for the repair. Foreman Bill McKeown used our PolyLevel® system to level the concrete and fill any voids below. He injected a high-density polyurethane to lift, curing in a matter of minutes. Bill also made sure that the patio had the correct slope, preventing water from pooling.
The customer is thrilled with how fast and efficient the installation was and appreciated the entire Canadian Concrete Leveling team's work.
Tripping Hazards
When a concrete slab sinks, the raised concrete turns into a tripping hazard
Pooling Water
Even in the spring with sun on the concrete water would still pool
Leveling Concrete
Bill carefully injected our polyurethane in several locations while constantly checking the grade
Proper Slope
With the repair done the concrete now slopes away from the wall and no longer pool on the patio
