Residential Photo Album: Sinking Pool Deck Puts Granddaughters at Risk in Whitby, Ontario
Many homeowners love having a pool in the backyard. They bring families years of enjoyment, but sometimes things need to be repaired after all those years.
A couple in Whitby, Ontario, has a backyard pool that they’ve had for 30 years. They have a few tripping hazards around the pool but always ignored them. Their son recently moved back to the area with his two daughters, and they’ve been using the pool more and more frequently. The grandparents were growing concerned about their grandkids tripping, so they decided to call Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Project Manager Kyle O’Brien inspected the pool deck and explained to the customers how our process worked. They were thrilled that this was even an option for them, and they eagerly set up a date for the repair.
Foreman Kyle McKeown started the repair by drilling dime-sized holes in the concrete slabs surrounding the pool. These holes were used as injection ports for our high-density polyurethane, PolyLevel®. As the solution is installed, it expands beneath the concrete, lifting the slab back to an even grade while compressing fill soils. This compression helps to prevent the issue from returning.
The couple and their granddaughters can’t wait to use the pool again. The tripping hazards are gone, and their pool is ready to go for many more years to come.
