Residential Photo Album: New Homeowners Discover Sinking Concrete Around Pool in Whitby, Ontario
Many variables go into making the perfect backyard oasis. Aesthetics, space and functionality, are just a few that homeowners consider.
A customer in Whitby, Ontario, had recently bought a new house. The house already had a beautiful backyard pool, but much of the surrounding. Concrete had cracked and settled. They wanted to create their dream backyard, and the unsightly concrete was getting in the way of that, so they reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the homeowner and inspected the backyard. Kyle explained how our PolyLevel® solution could fill the voids below and lift the concrete slabs, and our NexusPro® Sealant will keep water out and improve the look of the concrete.
Foreman Kyle McKeown started the repair by drilling dime-sized holes in the concrete. Through these holes, he injected our high-density polyurethane to lift and level the concrete. With the patio back to an even grade, Kyle sealed the cracks and seams before patching the holes.
The customer and his wife and delighted with the improved look and functionality of their backyard and pool deck.
Pool Deck Before
Most of the concrete pool deck was cracked and sinking
Voids
Due to poor fill soils when the concrete was poured, voids formed and caused the concrete to sink
Cracking
As concrete sinks and shifts, the pressure causes the slabs to crack
PolyLevel®
Our high-density polyurethane expands beneath the surface, both lifting the concrete and compressing loose fill soils
Pool Deck After
The entire pool deck is at an even grade now after the work done by Canadian Concrete Leveling
Safety
The customers no longer need to worry about tripping over raised edges or slipping on pooling water
