Residential Photo Album: Poor Fill Soils Lead to Sinking Concrete in Cobourg, Ontario

Adding something to your home or completed a renovation is exciting. You get to put your spin and personality on your home, and no one knows what you want better than you. A customer in Cobourg, Ontario, was in the planning stages of building a new backyard deck. They loved enjoying their pool and hanging out on the deck, but over the years, their concrete pool deck had settled several inches. The concrete was now sitting significantly lower than the deck, so they wanted to repair it before building. Project Manager Kyle O’Brien travelled to the customer’s home and inspected their backyard. He explained how poor fill soils when the concrete was poured could lead to voids, causing the concrete to sink.  Foreman Kyle McKeown drilled dime-sized holes in the concrete slabs to inject our PolyLevel® high-density polyurethane. Once injected, it expands beneath the concrete to lift the slabs and compress loose-fill soils. To finish the repair, Kyle patched the holes with fresh concrete and used our NexusPro® Sealant to seal any cracks.  The customer and his family are very happy with the work done by Canadian Concrete Leveling and are looking forward to building their new deck.
