Residential Photo Album: Concrete-Loving Couple Deals with Sinking Slabs in Owen Sound, Ontario
Sometimes, you fall in love with a particular part of your home. It could be your beautiful backyard, cozy front porch, or even a garage workshop.
For a couple in Owen Sound, Ontario, they adored the look of concrete. Their home has concrete walkways, steps and patios, and a concrete pool deck and driveway. To say they enjoy concrete is an understatement.
In recent years, they noticed a few different spots around their home that needed some work. Concrete slabs were sinking and cracking, leading to annoying tripping hazards. In some spots, water was pooling and freezing during the winter. Sinking concrete had also caused their entire fence to drop a couple of inches.
They wanted their concrete brought back to its former glory, so they reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling. Project Manager Paul Mendell met with the homeowners and completed a thorough inspection of their property. Paul could tell how passionate they were about the look of their home. The customers were concerned about how tearing up concrete would destroy their landscaping. Paul explained that we use a 300-ft hose to access the property, and our work is typically completed in a day. He showed them a video demonstrating why concrete fails and how our PolyLevel® System can repair it.
Foreman Kyle McKeown started by drilling dime-sized holes throughout the slabs. He used these holes as injection ports for our PolyLevel® System. Kyle carefully lifted the slabs back to an even grade. He took care to ensure it was back to the right height before patching the injection holes with fresh concrete. Since aesthetic and longevity is important to the couple, they chose to add our NexusPro® Sealant System. NexusPro® keeps debris and water out of concrete cracks and seams, and is resistant to UV light.
The customers are blown away by the repair. They cannot believe we were able to give them their concrete aesthetic back so efficiently without disruptions. They loved watching their concrete lift first-hand and appreciate the care and hard work from our crew.
